1. Bravo Drive
2. Transom assembly
3. Bell Housing
4. Coupler
5. Shift bracket
6. Lots of time and patience

Have new style trim pump already.

Need to move engine aft, remove tranny, fill hole and recut to Bravo size or get adapter plate.

Anything else needed for this switch?

What is the diff between the HD and regular transom assem except the lack of trim sender and limit sensors?

Thanks very much,
SL

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I hate to send anyone to another site, however there is a thread on www.offshoreonly.com with the same topic and 18 replies. Look under the Technical section. Hope this helps.

I think that you are pretty much on it with your list that you posted. I plan on doing the same conversion, but from a TRS in an X-18 to a Volvo SX. The biggest job will be glassing up the hole left by the TRS transom unit to be re-cut for a "standard" drive unit. But you are in luck, there is a great tech write-up by GEOO on doing this very job right here on Donzi.net. (http://www.donzi.net/tech/transomresto.htm) I will be doing my conversion job with the deck off since the fuel tank will be replaced at the same time.

Pismo, have you thought about buying the KONRAD and having to do nothing in the way of glasswork?

For anyone interested, I have found I also need.......

1) The thru bolt that the trim cylinders mount to on the aft end of the drive with the rubber gromets etc.

2) Exhaust blocking plate for inside for transom assembly (only needed if thru hull exh)

3) A drive lube bottle

I can't do a Konrad, $11+ thou for a new drive and Tplate and I would need a new tranny also.

I am into this Bravo conversion for under $5k so far, just time on top of that.

A Konrad sounds great tho.

The glass work so far is not bad, the gasket of the new Bravo Transom plate will completely surround the old TRS hole so all you really need to due is modify the TRS hole to fit the innerds of the Bravo plate. All the pressure of the drive will be on the existing hull, none on the filled part so water tightness is the main goal.

cheers,
