I can't wait, first stop, on my way home, about 10 miles away, our 200 acre Lake with a no noise, Canadian National (and Olympic) Rowing Team exclusive (basically) designation, and no open exhaust, 40mph speed limit. It is VERY small, and the only one for about 75 miles. Then the rest are small with NO amenities. This is an ocean environment here. There is a boat launch but it is mostly guys in Duck Boats and those little round innertubes with their feet hanging down, jigging for sunfish....I used to windsurf and "lame" Hobie there in small winds. These will be great pics. :D

The fjord (and salt) is the water behind this smalll lake picture and the launch/pull-out from the dead end fjord that I launch from. This is (foreground) the only Lake here. Next one 75 miles away and no amenities. This one has 0 also, except a ramp.

The ocean in the picture below is where it is going to "live" when off the trailer.

The USA is on the right side, three Islands back, Canada, the closer ones and to the left. The first Island in middle off shore of our Island is James Is. That is owned by McCaw(cellular) of your infamous billionaire hall of fame. The tall one on the right at back with humps is San Juan Island. That being Roche Harbour, Friday Harbour, Blues Fest, Roosevelt stayed there. etc. This is the USA at that point. One "just" out of sight, to the left, is "Bill Gates's", and one more beside that is Bill Gates's wife's sister place. All in Canadian waters. It has an Indy Go-Cart track, as well as his owning two INDY (INDY) teams, not go carts, we hear them on weekends all the time, at my Dads' place on an Island beside theirs, and in the summer months she has a chopper arrive daily, from Seattle (and trainer) to help her in the "DOJO" do her exercises.

I am about 10 miles by water from the USA. The fact that you see so little stuff here (people, homes etc.) is because, as I told Buizilla at AOTH, Canada is bigger than the USA as a land mass. The population in this whole Country is less than that of California State alone. Hence the high taxes to keep the infrastucture going. Enough of that...

The Islands you see in the picture are called the "Gulf Islands" if they are Canadian, and the "San Juans" if they are American. There are over 750 of them CLOSE by in all at low tide. This in an area that can't be more than 75 miles long. Very similar to the 1000 Isles back East but warmer, except the water.

I live about 1500' to the left of these people below with Deneen. http://www.mountainclubs.bc.ca/members/ocv/images/island_fun/inl-w-peop.jpg The white tops of Mountains in the background are the Olympics (USA, and due EAST) and are about 7500'. Behind them (a short ways, 50 miles or so) is the Pacific Ocean, then Japan. Hence why we get uncanny good weather. All the weather comes towards the East (from West) of the Pacific, it has to lighten to get over this 7500' range, we are 30 miles to the East of them and at sea level, they dissipate and lighten on this Mountain range (Port Angeles to be exact) and blow over us as a non-event till they meet up with Vancouver 50 miles to the East and have a 7000' Mountain range again and back up again. Their Mountains include Whistler(2010 Olympics), Blackcombe, Hemlock, Grouse, Garibaldi etc etc etc.) We live in a rain shadow here.
In the picture above is a dead end fjord, the water about 750' deep, 1100 foot sheer cliffs on its' sides, flat calm ALWAYS for about 7 miles and Geoo could run 150GPS all day long and find nothing to hurt him. The boat launch and marina (if you can call it that, think 1000 years ago) is at the end there. It is the little white thing on the right. I put in there. It is about 15 minutes and 1100 vertical feet from my house. It is a GREAT drive to leave and arrive here. Calming so to speak. ;) The USA Oceanographic research team was here last year coaming the bottom for clues to the nature of deep sea creatures etc, much like Poodles' deep sea post. The entrance depth to this fjord is about 75 feet deep, 2000' wide, opening up to about 10 miles of 750+ foot deep water. This is about 1/4 mile from the photo directly above of the Gulf/San Juan Islands. I live at 1100' elevation, only the water is hard to "get to" with sheer cliffs and all. Boat launch into the salt water fjord is about 15 minutes away and then the rest just "appears" in about 7 nautical miles.

Hopefully next week, Wednesday or so, I can run it in this little Lake on the way to my house (first photo) and then go straight to jail... :D

Those are fantastic pictures Lenny. I've missed so much of BC by flying into Van, and heading to Blackcomb. It's time for another trip.
Good luck with the :canada: X-boat
That website is pretty cool too, I was able to find our warehouse in some of the Ottawa pics.

I used to live in Holland when I was younger. Played Hockey over there..etc.etc.

Interesting stat for ya Lenny..Vancouver Island is the same size as Holland yet they have as many people as we do in Canada..:shocking: Yikes..
