I was reading a little book last night call “Big Orange Wisdom” and came across a great quote from Micheal Irvin, Miami wide receiver and scorer of the ‘Canes only TD in their 1986 Sugar Bowl 35 to 7 loss – “I wish I could wake up two or three hours from now and find out it was all a bad dream and its still December 31.”
And a great quote from the General (if you don’t know him, check your football history)
“Gentlemen, touchdowns follow blocking as sure as night follows day.”
Well, if you don’t know the General, you should know that as a Major he had this to say – “It’s a modern major miracle that we went through the season without having our goal line crossed or a field goal scored.” Now that is a record that even tops the undefeated 1998 Vols
