Newbie question I suppose, but as I was reading a newer issue of POWERBOAT Magazine they were featuring a cat with BIG power and dry exhaust. In performance boating what advantage is a dry exhaust vs. a wet exhaust? Initially my thinking was less backpressure with high compression motors...but I'm probably wrong. Can anyone shed light on the subject?

The way that it was explained me was that the cam on those motor do to the design will hang open in lower RPM's. Therefore sucking in water.

Another point about dry exhaust is it is very loud, the lack of water kills the muffling effect the water has. My headers take awhile to fill and dump water the sound change is amazing, still loud but not obnoxious.
