I found this in a yard. I cant get to the back end. The area has alot of poisen ivy/oak,

I may have to pull it out and take a peek.

Looks interesting.

What do you think it is?

Doesn't look like anything Jerry couldn't buff out in a weekend :)

That will fill your winter, find a warm barn and go at it. Looks like it will need a total but well deserved resurection.

Where did you find that, Mike?

Looks like an EARLY 18... Narrow deck stripe, no wrap around seating as in Ski Sporter, the key here would be a transom/engine cover shot.

Looks interesting for sure!!!

yep,

definitely an 18... from the arch of the rear i'd almost wager a barrelback... without hatch as it appears :( it is on the original rocket trailer too...

if you don't want it keep me in mind... not like i don't have nough projects... but what the heck :)

---------Is that boat sitting in Fox lake at a storage yard right on rt.12? The 18 I saw at that yard was covered and I assumed complete but the storage yard owner said it couldnt be bought last year. Since I never saw it with the cover off I just wondered...........Bill S

Rodger,
Not too far away. ha, Stop over and check out the 22. And we should have the Z29 back on Friday. Amen

Rootsy,
I will keep you in mind. My wife just hit me with the frying pan. May have to get rid of the Searay.

It's not a outboard and the engine hatch was in the cockpit.

I'm heading out that way on Friday will try to get more pics.

The top deck was soft and needs repair.

And its not the one on RT 12. That is not for sale I checked.

Are you guys sure that's an 18? Look again. You can't see the seating arrangment, and the "combing" around the cockpit is consistent with that of a 16.

i donno cliff,

i know what the combing is like on my 16... it is fairly non existant... that looks more to the tune of almost every 18 i've seen...

also, the arch is too great to be a 16... over the transom imho

and finally, does your 16 have the lip around the ski locker? i have never seen that on a 16 but every 18 i've seen has it... maybe the early 16's did have this and i just have not noticed it...

there is a lot of deck space between the edge of the hatch opening and the gunnel though...

hmmmmm need photos.. must have moooooore...

I haven't seen 16 coaming like that either. Mine isn't.

Rootsy,
You're right about the ski rack..... My Bad...... It's an 18....I guess the look of the combing is misleading..

Looks to me to be an old 60's or early 70's 18 2+3, single hatch. Nice find. :cool!:

Definatly an 18' of late 60's early 70's by the holes in the dash, and also the lip around the cockpit is only found on 18's.

Interesting that all DONZI's that I see of that era 18's and x-18's had stress or cracking porblems to the left of the driver about knee height...

The owner does'nt want to give her up. He thinks he will restore it someday.

O well.
