But we had fun trying.
For those who don't know, this year Lake St. Clair boaters attempted to break the Guiness World Record for the most boats rafted together in a fresh water lake. The record is currently held by Lake Norman, NC with 1453 boats set just a few weeks ago. Lake Norman recently upped their own record from 944.
While our first attempt failed as the rules state the raft must be in a continuous line, the turnout for the LSC event was well in excess of 2000 boats. The main line in the pics actually had 1457 boats, but since the registration forms could not be exactly identified (since they were mixed in with boat registrations from the 2nd longest line in the pic), neither actually counted. I wanted to share the pics as they are rather impressive none the less.
For anyone who has boated on LSC, if you know about the "gauntlet", this was easily the longest one ever.

P.S. Dork, the record is safe at Lake Norman for another year, but you can bet we won't make that mistake again.
