Thanks a million times over, Chris!

Yes, it's a lefty which will compliment my port side helm.

I have tons of work to do, but everything is falling into place.

Nate,

Yeah looks great. The LH units are gear drive right??? Are you sticking with the SB for now? And if so what do you figure it will run speed wise. My 22 is starting with a 330/454 then as soon as all is straighted out going to a 54o (?) BB. I am hoping for 70 with the 454 and a good exhaust and maybe 90- 100 with the 540. What do all the experts out there think it will take to get to 100??? 700 hp???

THAT IS A BORG-WARNER ARNESON FROM THE EARLY 80'S. I USED A BUNCH OF THEM ON THE STOCK COUGARS AT THAT TIME

Nate:

Looks just like the unit hanging off my GT!!

You might want to blast & powder coat the unit before mounting. My paint in some areas wasn't event nicked or bubbled but I found the casting had some oxidation starting. Some of it may have been due to galvanic action. I kind of wonder how good of a connection can be made between the shaft housing & the large spherical joint??

I just got back from Gatlinburg for spring break & I hope to Email you some pics of my install this weekend.

Good luck on the install!

Thanks Fellas!

RickR,
She won't fit in the garage after the installation, that is unless I knock out the kitchen wall and use the bow as a microwave table. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Chris,
Frank Civitano has (?) HP in his 22 and it goes pretty damn fast http://www.donzi.net/ubb/eek.gif That may give you some idea.

Mark,
Yeah, no rush, but I sure would like to see how the tranny is situated, where power steering lines and cooling systems are routed, and a plethora of other details....

The engine room's stripped of all wiring, on to the dash and windshield next, then cleats and misc. hardware. Once totally stripped, it's into the garage to split the deck from the hull. Once split, the deck and hull go in 2 pieces to the "plastic beeder" guy who's stripping her down to fiberglass. Then back to my place for glass work, new synthetic stringers and bracing. Then paint the inside, install the engine and drive, then stick the deck back on and paint and install the rest of the details, then HAVE FUN!!
