I went to the bahamas last week and was doing my normal walk the docks looking at boats. I saw this in Marsh Harbor. DO my eyes deceive me? To the best of my knowledge, only one 22c came from the factory rigged for OB power, and that had a solid transome with a bracket.

OK experts, what do you think? I have my opinion, but do not have a definitive answer and I stood right next to it.

What do you think?

WOW!! very interesting..... There was rumored to be a second 22 OB... but no official proof of that has ever been seen.

If its from the factory the hull # will be a dead giveaway. It will have an OB designation (well at least mine does anyway). I think its an aftermarket conversion, someone added the OB well, but only the trained eye of Mad Poodle or some other expert can tell.... The hatch doesn't have the proper latch, and although the posted pic isn't high res and there are some shadows, it doesn't look like the seam of OB well was finished very well. It doesn't have the air scoops like mine does either.

Very Cool boat either way....

Guys,

Is this possibly not a 22 but an 18 OB?

I think the windshield comes way to far back for it to be a 22

proportions look like this image

The windshield even looks long for an 18, maybe an 18 with a 22 windshield.

I believe Mike Miller (Thriller, Vancouver B.C. BH owner) took pics of that same boat when he was down in the Bahamas in March or so. If you look at the last pic and pretend the engine hatch was there (ala I/O) it would be too big I think to be an 18. Also the side windshield upper stainless steel runs back beyond the lexan-glasswork to create an opening where there is no glass just like the 22...even with the 450 pound Yammy set-up there still seems to be too much freeboard to be an 18 (at least I think so) :)

Definately not a NOVA :D

I dunno, it sure looks like an 18 to me, with a 22 windshield... the distance from the forward bottom of the windshield to the fuel filler is almost exactly what my 18 is.

The size of the docking lights says it is a 22, the fore deck is way long for an 18.

OK, the windshield is real, in fact it's identical to mine. As far as I know, they were supplied one year (1988) and were imported from Berenzoni in Italy. It seems that after that, they were made in South Florida but w/o the arch that can be seen in the photos. The rear landing point is in approximately the same position as mine.
