My 29' flybridge cruiser with a single 460 King Cobra currently redlines at 48 to 4900 RPM's and falls off plane between 36 and 4000 depending on the load while burning between 15 and 20 GPH at 2.79 a gallon (OUCH). It requires full down tabs to plane and if I try and trim up at all to ease the stress on the universal joints I have to maintain full tabs. I know it will never be a fast boat and I'm not looking to pull holeshots, however I am hoping to find something to stay on plane where I'm not burning as much fuel and bring the WOT somewhere in the 4 to 4200 RPM range. I know for certain I need something that will lift the stern as much as possible Any ideas on what diameter, pitch, and number of blades I should think about trying?????
