Since Dubya jawboned his friends the Saudis and got the best price for oil in history, I've noticed an absence of powerboats on the river this year, though the amount of sailboats seems the same. Even Sea-doo traffic seems to be way down this year. Of course there could be other factors, like summer weather took a long time to get going this year. I'm up here on the Ottawa River on the Quebec side, and since I live right next to the river I can't help but notice big powerboats cruising by. The fact that we pay about double what you do for gas in the US could also be having a big effect. I'm just curious if anybody noticed a reduction in powerboat traffic in their region this year? I'll bet a pair of 502s could set you back a bundle for a day of full throttle running. I think almost double what it cost last year.
