I was at a car show tonite at the local Hooters :smileybo: and there was a guy there with a white Olds Cutlass and a t-shirt that said "Buizilla" on the back.

I knew it couldn't be our Buizilla since Lansing, Michigan is a damn long way from the Conch Republic. Still, I couldn't help but wonder........

What does it mean?????

Welp, Buizilla is a nick I garnered from about 30 years of racing big block Buicks. When the first stroker cranks from Moldex came out about 12 or so years ago, I bought one of the first 6 cranks, and built a 535" engine for my '72 GS. 4.355 bore by 4.500 stroke. KenneBell started the Buizilla moniker name. I bought this GS in October of 1994, after waiting for gawd knows how many years for it to be secreted out of Modesto, CA. My GS is the ONLY car in NHRA history, much less a Buick, to win every race, at every event, in any one calender year, which was 1972, in over 54 years of NHRA life. To this day, no other car has done that, to my knowledge. It was the 1972 NHRA World Finals C/SA winner at Pomona, sponsored directly by Buick. I have incredible Buick and NHRA paperwork, brochures, programs etc to back it all up. It was sponsored by 2 oil company's, M&H tires, Cragar, Motorwheel, Buick, KenneBell. Buick even required a tissue dispenser under the dash. It has EVERY option except A/C, when Buick spec'd the car originally. It was delivered to a dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA, in Dec 1971, but the original build sheet shows it was *jumped* from there, directly to Buick corporate in L.A. where Bill Trevor, a Buick engineer, and Dave Benisek set it up for Stock Eliminator and C/SA class. Dave drove the car, and he is listed at NHRA as a TOP 50 driver of all time, he is a VERY good friend of mine as well. VERY sneaky and trick car for it's day, looked stock as a rock. The car was even DRIVEN from L.A. to Indianapolis in Sept of 1972 and won the final's there, then driven to Amarillo, and El Paso Texas, won there both times, then driven to Pomona and won there, all with the slicks in the trunk, with the suitcases and tools. I raced the car up until recently in a LOT of venues, earning a Fastest Street Car in America status from NMCA., it is now restored for fast street duty, in mid 11 second configuration 470" Stage 2 aluminum head setup, on pump gas. The car went 9.90 @136, through full exhaust, and no nitrous, power brakes, power windows, automatic, power steering, FM stereo, tilt wheel, deluxe bench seat interior, vinyl roof, full stock interior, full exhaust with tailpipes 818hp@6600rpm... I hate nitrous. In fact, I am taking the car next week to the Buick Nationals in Salem, Ohio, where I am the Event Director.

I could go on for hours about this GS car, but it speaks for itself.

If you want to see another trick car I have, check out my Stock Appearing Nova on the Year One website, under the 2002 Bristol Bash participants. To date, I have run 11.83@119.60 on factory red line bias ply tires, factory exhaust manifolds, with a 100% stock looking LT-1 engine. It is a destroked 400 at 392". The car MUST look 100% original however, and it does in that series.. It frickin screams, world's fastest stock appearing small block Chevy..... I have been invited to bring this car to the Super Car Reunion Labor day weekend, to race against the ZL1's, L88's and Yenko cars.

I also now have a 28,000 mile 1971 loaded W30 Old's, and an ultra rare triple white 1970 Wildcat convertible.

Just sold a rare silver '71 HO GTO (just appeared in Musclecar Enthusiast magazine spread) and an original paint, 30,000 mile, 1970 Z28, 4 speed, and an original '67 R/T 440 Coronet, an original '71 Super Cheyenne shorty.

Nice. I had a black 2DR/HT 1967 Chevelle Malibu, 283, Powerglide, console, tach etc, all original, I bought off my dad who bought it new, and babied it. I promptly hit a deer at 80 and that was about it. Nothing like this mind you

Jim,

-------Bet that Wildcat puurrrrrrrrrrrs!
-------Can you tell us more about the Nova motor, Jim? Huh? Can ya, can ya? When are you taking that thing out again, as I want to get my airline tickets now? That has to be some ride. You must take almost all the bottom end out of that thing to get it off the line with those redlines attached. For those of you purely boat guys 11.83 is absolutely flying for that car............Bill S
