My brother in-law is in research and development at coast oil company and he brought home some wax for me to try on the bottom of the blackhawk. He said he didn't know how much speed it would produce, but that it would make it faster. Well after 2 coats and one hell of a day testing, he was right. I got on an average 4 mph more out of her. I used to be able to run about 78mph on gps. She ran 82-83 on a consistant basis after the wax. So I decided to but it on the 2000 22 classic and it did the same thing. If I could get a head count for who's coming to 1000 Islands I'll try to get enough for everyone.

That sounds interesting. I'm not gonna be at 1000 Islands but if you could send me some I would love to try it out. If that is a possibility, let me know and I could mail you a check to cover costs. Let me know

My brother in-law is bringing up 2 gallon jugs next weekend. I could put some in a bottle and send it to you. You're gonna love it.

I'm sure it works but for some strange reason I can't get the picture of Clark W Griswold zooming down the sleigh run at sonic speeds after apply a new non stick non fat cooking spray   outta my head
I'll be at 1000 isles so put me down for some

This is not available on the open market...... Looks like I'll have to start up my own wax buisness. If you want some just let me know and I'll have to package some up for everyone. I know it's hard to believe, but once you put it on your gonna awful surprised. i've spent thousands of dollars to gain that much speed and this was free. I'm also gonna have to change my 80.7 mph.

Glen as soon as I get it I'll package some up for you and send it.. What boat are you driving? If it''s a 33 you'll need more than a 16 would.

That sounds great. I have a 22 Classic that needs the extra boost in speed. Please tell me what I would owe you $$$ for the wax and postage.

Thanks

Aleagles,

There have been speed wax claims thrown around offshore circles for years.

I am booked in for 1000 Islands. What I would like to do is put my boat in, do a dry run, come back, wax her up, and try it again. 85 would be a great day on this hull as I have done everything, including leaving the wife out on the dock, in search of that final bit of speed.

What is invloved in putting this stuff on any way?

i have been waxing the bottom of my boats for years,3-4 mph gains every time, the biggest problem seems to be nothing lasts for long, almost like the wax is being burned off by the fricton of the water. i do the bottom 1 a month and in between use 3-m perfect-it gloss enhancer, only takes about 10-15 min to do the whole boat and well worth the time. please let me know how long this wax lasts

Call me Mr Pessimistic, but.... 4mph for just a coat of wax on an already clean bottom just seems...well....kinda far fetched. Gotta see this for myself, if true... count me in as a MAJOR investor.

I've seen a ton of different waxes but this stuff is no like no wax I've ever touched before. It's so slick it's undiscribable. As for how long it lasts? I don't know, I guess everyone will have to tell me how long it lasts. By the way, I've got 42 emails or private messages. And 75% of them say please don't tell anyone I'm getting this!!!! It's kind of like VIAGRA!!! But Here's who I've got so far that wants to have their name mentioned.

I to am a bit skeptical, been in the wrong end of the boat biz for almost can't remember. Seriously raced sail boats got my share of gold/silver, saw all sorts of bottom stuff tried. The only thing I have ever seen truly improved speed was the Boeing Rivulets in Austrail at the Cup. I know of a designer doing a project on bottom surfaces with a computer generated stipples that in tank testing is showing some promise. I Have never seen any slick product work well or last more than a few days. Bearing that in mind I have to say looking at the list of names that coupled with the nameless ones wearing HOODS will make one hell of a "lynch mob!" :biggrin.: :biggrin.:

Actually, when I have waxed the bottom of previous go-fasts that I owned, IT SLOWED THE BOAT DOWN! I have heard the theories about water bubbling on the surface of a freshly waxed hull creating resistance and whammo, your're clean, shiny, and SLOWER!

BUT, I will try this, and I'm not embarassed to speak up and say I want to, but I also won't be bashful about posting about what the results are.

My boat is a 22 Classic.

Maybe this way, I'll be able to stay ahead of that "stock" 500 in the Doctor's boat!

After 2 days of testing, there doesn't seem to be any sign of it wearing off. This coming weekend I will be at Winni to meet my brother in law for the wax. If there's any winni. boys that wanna try it this weekend we could have a pre-testing session before the 1000 islands run. Just let me know.

my 20'. Whatever the price - anything over 60mph is a good thing.

After hearing that harbor master is running out of money this idea came to me. I will charge for the wax and what is left over from the shipping and packaging I will donate back to the site. If anyone else has a better idea please let me know. Thanks
