Not being familiar with this drive is the rust colored line a problem and does this have a nose cone on it?
Thanks

Yes, it has a nose cone on it, and the rust colored line is probably some mud that was sucked up into the water intake and has drained out.

Thanks Greg Do you have a feel for a MPH increase the cone is worth?

depending on some things like drive height, the nose cone could decrease speed due to the increase in surface area which equals drag.

It does look like a nose cone, but a rather blunt one. Most I see today come to a pretty sharp point. In most cases, even the sharp ones have little to no top speed effect on boats that run less than 70-75MPH. A nose cones *real* purpose is to increase the speed at which prop blowout occurs. If on a given application prop blowout occurs at 85MPH a nose cone may raise that threshold to 100MPH. Anyway, on that drive, I doubt it does much of anything.

What exactly is blowout? I had it running 75 [GPS] last week its still a handful. I should have a new prop in a few days maybe it will be easier to handle. Thanks
