LT1 Heads on Marine SBC

Whats the thoughts on aluminum heads for SBC in fresh water?

Can't speak to the cooling water issue, but I can offer some addl. info about the LT1. If you are referring to the late model LT1, ('93 and up), this is the reverse cooling design and is not a simple swap. If you are talking about the LT-1 heads from the early 70's, they are conventionally cooled.

Just a thought, my engine guy swears that they steal to much heat from the combustion chamber causing a lose of power. He thinks they are much better on closed cooling as they run at higher temps. I would even like more input on his words of wisdom for S&G, I opted for iron Darts with closed cooling.
