Just curious. Saw a similar poll on another site and was a little surprised at how lopsided the poll ended up. Just curious if the same thing happens here.

Lopsided which way?

I hope it is Bush!

WHICH EVER WAY ANYONE IS LEANING, PLEASE, PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK. RESEARCH THE ISSUES AND CANIDATES THOUROUGHLY. DO NOT VOTE FOR A CANIDATE JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THE OTHER. WE AS AMERICANS CAN DISAGREE ON POLICY AND ISSUES, BUT WE MUST AGREE ON THE PRINCILES THAT MAKE THIS COUNTRY GREAT.

GET OUT AND VOTE!

Michael Moore is a Socialist and is ANTI AMERICAN. DO NOT LOOK AT THAT MOVIE AS FACT! Do a google search on what that man has said about us and our country overseas. You will be very suprised! Enough Said!

Later! Whatever the case this election will be a wild ride!

GO BUSH! :)

Honestly I think the biggest majority of Americans are complacent pussies, please read the full text of what one of our fighting hero's has to say Below. All of you that are thinking Kerry, you should start to think hard and long. If you do follow the news and have family and friends in Iraq no way should you be thinking that way. The embedded journalist that spent over a month within the terrorists midst stated very clearly this is World War 3. They have no uniforms, live within our midst and you will not see them coming if you do they will have masks on, they are not solders they are warped killers dead set on killing Christians and Jews world wide. Anyone like myself that has good contact with law enforcement through family and friends do know just how bad things really are. We need real a war mongers in power not some swishy liberals!

From a Marine officer on the Iraqi warfront with Jihadistan...

(This is an open letter to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, "Islamic
Response," and the rest of the so-called al-Qa'ida "insurgents"
in Iraq and elsewhere. We don't have an e-mail address for these
swine -- though we are closing in on their snail-mail address,
but we are forwarding this letter to Federalist Patriots around the
world in the hope you good people will forward it to as many other
Patriots as possible to rally prayer and support for our fellow
Marine, Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun. Should these al-Qa'ida pigs
spill his blood, we want them to rest assured that the contents
of this letter will eventually be nailed to their foreheads. Thank
you for your assistance.)

To al-Qa'ida terrorists in Iraq:

I see that you have captured a U.S. Marine, and that you plan
to cut off his head if your demands are not met. Big mistake.
Before you carry out your threat I suggest you read up on Marine
Corps history. The Japanese tried the same thing on Makin
Island and in a few other places during World War Two, and came
to regret it. Go ahead and read about what then happened to the
mighty Imperial Army on Tarawa, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. They paid
full price for what they did, and you will too.

You look at America and you see a soft target, and to a large
extent you are right. Our country is filled with a lot of spoiled
children who drive BMWs, sip decaf lattes and watch ridiculous
reality TV shows. They are for the most part decent, hard working
citizens, but they are soft. When you cut off Nick Berg's head
those people gasped, and you got the media coverage you sought,
and then those people went back to their lives. This time it
is different. We also have a warrior culture in this country,
and they are called Marines. It is a brotherhood forged in the
fire of many wars, and the bond between us is stronger than
blood. While it is true that this country has produced nitwits
like John Kerry, Michael Moore, Howard Dean and Jane Fonda who
can be easily manipulated by your gruesome tactics, we have
also produced men like Jason Dunham, Brian Chontosh and Joseph
Perez. If you don't recognize those names you should. They are all
Marines who distinguished themselves fighting to liberate Iraq,
and there will be many more just like them coming for you.

Before the current politically correct climate enveloped our
culture one of the recruiting slogans of our band of brothers was
"The Marine Corps Builds Men." You will soon find out just how
true that is. You, on the other hand, are nothing but a bunch of
women. If you were men you would show your faces, and take us on
in a fair fight. Instead, you are cowards who hide behind masks
and decapitate helpless victims. If you truly represented the
interest of the Iraqi people you would not be ambushing those who
come to your country to repair your power plants, or sabotage the
oil pipelines which fuel the Iraqi economy. Your agenda is hate,
plain and simple.

When you raise that sword over your head I want you to remember
one thing. Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun is not alone as he kneels
before you. Every Marine who has ever worn the uniform is there
with him, and when you strike him you are striking all of us. If
you think the Marines were tough on you when they were cleaning
out Fallujah a few weeks ago you haven't seen anything yet. If you
want to know what it feels like to have the Wrath of God called
down upon you then go ahead and do it. We are not Turkish truck
drivers, or Pakistani laborers, or independent contractors hoping
to find work in your country. We are the United States Marines,
and we will be coming for you.

Lopsided which way?

Scott, I purposely did not post the prior poll findings in an attepmt to maintain the neutrality of this poll. I will however bring it up later after most of the forum that is willing to get involved does.

I do agree that it is incumbent on all of us to get involved and use our heads. We should not regurgitate the mindless diatribe of those with agendas and a platform to reach the weak minded (Yes, Michael Moore, AND yes, Rush Limbaugh).

Kerry, Bush, Sharpton...etc, if you make an informed decision after weighing as many FACTS possible, then much respect, welcome to democracy. Just please form your own opinion before you do so. Not saying that I will agree with you, but you will have my respect.

I do find it somewhat unsettling though that there have been 119 views and only 28 votes- especially when it is just a click and it is anonymous. I know we have many fantastic forum members from other countries, but I would imagine there are many americans who also viewed who will be as active in November as they are here today. :frown:

Fishboy, maybe a lot of those "views" are from people like me, in a foreign Country and I don't think I should click on a "button" and register a vote when I am not a part of your electorate. :D

Agree with you tho on the issues at hand and I hope you get a better balloting system in place there this time. ;)

I try to stay out of politically oriented discussions on this board. I come here to read posts about my friends and their boats, both friends that I know and friends that I haven't met yet.

So in regards to the poll, I'll only say this. When the election comes, VOTE. Exercise your right.

If you could see half the places I have been sent around the world to see, the places that don't make the travel brochures, if you could just see, hear, and smell the world that makes up the reality of existence for so many unfortunate folks in so many regions other than ours, you wouldn't take the right to vote lightly.

I agree with Digger.
I've been to third world countries, particularly in South America, where for the last 80 years, the military has been used solely for subduing dissidents.
We should be better than the average citizen and vote.

I work(ed) for a consulting firm that prepares political and economic analysis on foreign countries for private individuals and companies needing to know the risk investing in those places poses. Politics I'm an admitted junky of. We also help put individuals and business in contact with the right people in the government to help them realize their goals. i.e. mining concessions. I'm currently working within the merchant bank "we" created to profit more for ourselves and clients in these projects. Another example when Clinton allowed food and medicine sales to Cuba say. People wishing to engage in those sales would hire us to tell them the risk or potential gains. Hence why some of my picture locations are classified!

I'm tired of debate's on politics, hence why I need a healthy hobby!

Guys - you've got it all wrong. Micheal Moore is a great American :propeller

OK, yes, I have gone insane !!!

Fish, Digger, everyone else has it right - Use your head, get informed and Vote.

Lenny, et.al - I agree that "voting" in the poll is not good, but I would like to have a viewpoint of American Politics from our worldwide Brothers and Sisters. I know W. is not well presented in the UK.

OK, since it seems the voting has slowed down to a trickle (please still vote if you have not already done so), I will post the results from the other site that did a similar poll and made me curious if the same thing would happen here- it did!

Other poll as of this morning:

George W. Bush 76.64%
John Kerry 14.95%
Other 4.67%
Undecided 3.74%
Voters: 107

Donzi poll as of this morning:

George W. Bush 67.74%
John Kerry 24.19%
Other Party 0%
Undecided 8.06%
Voters: 62.

I have attended multiple events and and know many people from both boating sites (not OSO). I can tell you that from my personal experience, the people as a group cover a very wide range of socio-economic classes, and as a whole, disposable income seems less prevalent on the other site (just my opinion, I know we are all trying to make ends meet).

I find it odd that there is such disparity between Bush and Kerry in this admittedly unscientific poll. We all having boating in common, but I know that it has nothing to do with my choice of candidates and as far as I know, has never been any part of a political platform.

Again, unscientific but there are voters form all over the US, and multiple socio-economic levels contributing to both polls. While I would venture a guess that there are probably a few more male voters in the polls than female, it still makes me wonder why the media reports it as such a neck and neck race when at least our results show something different.

Not sure if Kerry's announcement of Edwards as running mate or McCain's recent strong support of GW (McCain is the most liberal republican on the hill) will make a difference in the poll, but is should be an interesting race.

Anyway, don't forget to vote; here (if you have not done so), and in November.

I own pot and pans too, but that does not make me a chef. LOL

THe Bush's were very close friends with Don Aronow. Senior was a big suporter of Don's Blue Thunder Program and bringing high performance boating to law enforcement. I thinnk you will find in the very near future ;) that the current administration is activly invloved with donzi and using high perf boats for a variety of operations.

I was just curious, what do you base your opinion on, that President Bush is Lost. Why would you cast a vote for anyone that you quote as "Lame"?

Please! If you are going to vote. Educate yourself with a wide range of information from all media sources and make an educated decision based on the facts! Not feelings!
