I am going to change out my shift cable on my 454 omc, I belive its still causing me a problem by hitting the inturup switch, and it is original. I was looking at it to day and where the shift cable goes in to the drive it has a hose clamp on it why whould it ? I looked at the parts page and it does not call for any of that. I have had the boat 3 or so years so I don't know if it was put on. can I just take if off do you think?Maybe that will fix my problem. The boat runs fine just every once and a wille she trys to cut out when I push down or trim. :wavey:  :wrench:

Try adjusting your ideal adjustment screew on your carb

I did this and it stop hesitating/dying when shifting into gear

You also might have a vacum leak
