What is the best timing advance for optimum performance ?

I set the dwell at 29, within a few hours it will be at 30 which is where it should be for strong spark with stock ignition. Initial timing should be close to but not to exceed 10 with top at 32-34, top timing is more important as that is where it runs. I re-check the timing after a few runs. It is a good idea to inspect the advance springs, any sign of rust or deformity replace them IE: they should look new.

Is it an easy step to retrofit for an electrinic ignition.

Do you have an idea of the pricing and if there is enough space to fit an electronic distributor

I agree, I was going to drop my Jacobs setup on my new motor but was advised that the Thunderbolt was good and to just use the Jacobs coil until the Merc pack died. Still not undecided.
