Looks sweat! If you're bidding and not in the area, make sure you have someone check it out first. Not that I'm distrusting of things for sale on Ebay... just the people selling them.

Ted my deepest and humblest apologies, looked at pic again and opened it to see what I was really looking at! On my first quick glance without bothering to open the pic to full size they looked like they were mounted with the angle outboard.

Please forgive me Oh Masterful Super Charged One!

Ted, Thank you very much for the phone call. Now I can sleep easy tonight. One more question: Can my 23p Mirage Plus be worked to where I need it to be. Or Just invest in a new 25p. Thanks again, Jim

The problem with doing that is the RPM'S can be lowered
by cupping the 23 but no more speed will be gained and you would get more bow lift.

So .......no thats not a good option.
Try to find the 25.

HP600SC; Have you heard of people mounting their K-Planes horizontal, rather than in line with the angle of the hull? They say the boat tracks and turns better, and less speed loss with the tabs down.Ed

Yes I have seen and driven a boat like that.

It felt like it was a little more likely too hook in a turn.

Plus it looks funny on the transom.

Some subscribe to a K Plane mounting technique where you mount them at 17 degrees on a 24 degree v hull. They are a little flatter than the bottom then and catch the water faster when re-entering.

Just wondering, but I'm not real sure I would want my K-Planes catching the water first on re-entry to the water. I've seen a number of off-shore race boats trip and put the bow into the next wave. I would think tabs catching water first would result in the same end effect?

Ted, you must have put to much HP in that Classic. Everyone who buys it seems to be scared of it? It sure is a beautiful Classic though!
