Happy monday guys. I am finally going to get back to the lake this weekend and run the Z25. I was wondering if you all can tell me the max RPM to run @. 1988 454 330HP. I have been told not to run it above 4600RPM. Is this true. I am also going to take a couple of props to try out. The boat came with a 19 pitch. and i could run the RPM up above 5200 if i wanted. I am going to do the ratios that you guys gave on the surf and turf thread. but need to know where to stop on the RPM's. What is too much. Also does anyone know how fast i should expect out of this boat. Am i gonna get 55 or higher?:hyper:

I used to have an 86 with a 330 TRS drive. I ran a 21 clever stock and then put a 21 Stilletto and ran it 4600 rpm. I'm pretty sure the 330 range is 42-4600. I think 4800 is about the most I would run it. The 21 gave me 60 on the speedo. I never did gps at the time. I think you should try a 21 Mirage Plus on that boat. I went with the Stilletto because I got it cheap:) You should see 55 gps no problem maybe 58. If you have an Alpha drive you could hit 60. Those are just my guess's. Good luck that is a nice boat.
