28ZX - Where do you access...

Does anyone know where you access the fuel sending unit in a 28ZX?

There are a couple of round access points (on the floor between the bolsters, and just below the door in the cabin), but I have not found what I'm looking for.

The guage was misreading a little last year and low and behold Donzi covered the repair under Z-care at my local Mercruiser dealer (that would be K&M Marine). The guage seems to work now, but I'm very curious as to where they performed the part swap, how they sealed it, etc.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm going from memory here, but I think there is another access point under the rear seat in the storage compartment. I think that is where the fuel shut off valve is located and may very well allow access to the sending unit too.

The sending unit is under the 5inch access port between your bolsters. the one in your cuddy allows access to the bilge pump in the step portion of the hull. I have a '99 28zx and just replaced this pump last week and stumbled upon the tank sending unit.
