Hi all, replaced my old Viper prop on my '93 OMC Cobra 18 with a new Viper prop, which improved speed and performance nicely  . Only at speed the boat now lists to port much more than before. I assume this is because of prop torque. Should I change the trim tab setting on the outdrive and, if so, in which direction? The tab is now set on "5," whereas owners' manual says it should be set at "3." Was never a problem before. Helm, by the way, in on the starboard side. Many thanks for any advice.

Turn the tab to direction you want the boat to go,

Normally we adjust the drive tab so the steering is neutral meaning no noticeable pull in one direction or the other. The caveat is with power steering the tab is set neutral or removed for less drag. You may have noticed drives with a flat plate or in the case of Merc a flat zinc. Your boat is walking up from prop torque the cure is a tiny touch on the trim tab to level it out.
