Good looking boat....

That is the 3rd Cig 20 that has been listed up here in the last 6 months...hard to believe that there are that many of them up here... But I guess instead of buying classics, everyone up here bought these in the 70's.

Thanks for posting it...

Think I might give them a call, Portland is not that far. Has she been forsale long? In other words is the seller motivated?

Its a TRS.maybe a side view would show the size of it better but you can tell from the back by the top gear cover, looks like it missing the decal.

Can't help making a comment on this one! Went to see the boat a year ago when the boat had been hauled down from Oregon to Chico,C.A. by the owner at that point. The owner Scott had lots of experience as far as high performance boats and had during the couple of years he had this one and (lucky guy) a 2nd 20' that he had sold a year or two back, chosed to keep this one 'cause it is all stock (the 2nd one had been customized before he got it and had a very extreme set up). Scott had rebuilt the TRS drive, put a better bilge pump in, aut. engine bay fire ext. system... in other words kept it turn key and user friendly. He had clocked it in the low 70's and with the few things he had done to the 454 in there and the kind of guy he was I don't doubt it a second. To make a long story short I had to pass on this boat 'cause it was a partnership purchase that even started wrong. When things got sorted out I lost out on this one and ended up being a proud owner of a 1981 Schiada 21 outboard. If You don't dislike a brown hull I would say that there should be no reason not to jump in the truck. I now got space to put a another beauty, so if buyers remorse? I'll take her off your hands, this is a classic, owner to be, post us happy ending pictures!!!

This boat is now in Ohio and forsale, last 3 months on boat trader, with no pic, asking $12000, down from $13,400 the week after he bought it.

I had the high bid on this boat on ebay but under reserve, and since bought the X18

I bought the California boat with the scoop & Chevy/ Merc TRS, which I now have for sale here in the classifieds. The day after I finished redoing the Donzi motor I got a call that Finally the Cig 24 resto project, that I've been waitiing a year for, is finally ready to be bought.

Does anyone know what happened to the brown/cocoa cigarette 20 that was for sale in OH? I think it was an unrespected gem!

Dregsz
02-21-2006, 10:01 PM
I think the guys phone # is in post #22 on this thread. Why don't you call the guy and report back what he says.

I like that term unrespected gem, more for a girl then a boat

CaseyF

girls, boats. same thing- they both require a lot of maintenance (and a lot of money)

I emailed the brown cig owner after it was no longer listed but didn't receive a reply...thus figured it was sold but now I wonder. Will ring him at the risk of being cussed out for intrusion and report back

I didn't realize he had an email addy.
It was a very uncomplicated ad. no Photo.
I called the guy up last summer and confirmed that it WAS the coco brownie from Chico, CA. that I had bid on ebay last spring, and it was.

I called and requested pics a long long time ago, thinking a friend of mine was interested in the boat. Well, I realized that I was interested in the boat a little too late....that's how I got the email address (already had it)

will post results if any
