I don't understand why my dryer sheets don't keep my cloths as fresh smelling as they used to be? Maybe it's the dryer sheets, or the heat setting? Anyone else have this problem....

It's because your Mother is no longer involved in the process.

Are you using a fresh sheet with every load?

Are you laundering grubbier clothing?

Might try some Feebreeze... or, heck, just buy a new wardrobe!

I agree with what Toona said...

But also, are you putting your dryer sheet on top of the clothes when you put it in the dryer, or putting the sheet in before your clothes? If its at the bottom, a lot of times it wont circulate and your clothes wont smell as fresh.

Toona thats just sad about how old you were when you first cleaned a toilet!

What's sad is that I didn't realize they had to be cleaned... thought I had really hard water in that first postcollegiate condo!

Being in the water treatment business, I've learned to answer all kinds of associated questions. Sometimes the outer drum in the washing machine is really nasty,. badl.y contaminated with dirt and bacteria. Sometimes you couldn't get fresh smelling clothes if your life depended on it!
One solution is to run a laundry cycle w/no clothes and put in 1/2 gallon of peroxide. Peroxide cleans & sanitizes much more effectively than bleach. When the rinse cycle is finished, reset and do your laundry.
Hope your clothes get to smelling fresher whether you do or not :rlol:

Okay, here's one for George, then.

I have successfully used peroxide to remove blood stains from the dogs' sheets (bitches whelping/in season) - but I find that those spots shred in subsequent launderings in the washing machine.

The peroxide is much more effective than the bleach, but not practical if it leaves tattered rags after use... what am I doing wrong?

Hi Celene;
I've not met you, but are you blond? No offense intended!
Remember, peroxide is a bleach. the effects can be more destructive than household bleach. Of course there are differences, you wouldn't pour bleach into a cut like peroxide. I guess a rule of thumb is treat it like bleach.
I remember in the '70's, bleached jeans first became popular and I tried to save a few bucks by doing it myself. I think those jeans lasted about a month.
I hope this helps.

Um, yes. Naturally. Or not.

The last time I confused bleach with peroxide...

There is nothing worse than having no sheet.
Unless you have a sheet load, whereby you would be full of sheet!

What's a dryer?

60 plus MPH in a donzi while holding the sheets that you were using on your bow with your significant other because you were getting a little frisky and you fell overboard.

Donzi Definition of a dryer!

I have the best solution even better than marriage or moving back home. Costs less over both as well. My local laundry place does clothes for you at .75 cents a pound. It's worth the twenty bucks or so a week, for clean fresh pressed and bagged clothes! :convertib

Things that might have been overlooked with this dilema:

Who you bringing home these days?

a. Hang around the buss station to get your dates?

b. Have they been properly sprayed down with bug spray?

c. How long are they actually exposed to the sheets?
15 mintues-it could make a girl furious
30 mintues-you might see a doctor about it
all night-That could be the real problem with the sheets

d. Any sheep involved? (They have a very potent smell; or, so I've been told)

..........my 2 cents - just trying to help
