Have any of you discovered Totally Stainless, it is one of the companies recommended by Holley for fasteners. I ordered from them and am very pleased with their stuff, thought I would pass on the info.

MOP, quick question, I have a 350 vette block with marine addons. All of the original hardwear is rusting, but I was told that replacing with stainless would not allow for proper heat expansion. Crap or not?

I do not think that is true, I am using all stainless including the ARP stainless head bolts. According to the spec they are rated at 170,000psi, there a write up on http://www.webrodder.com/ I did speak to them about hearing S/S was not good for head bolts got quite a bit of De-Bunking. The use of their anti sieze compound actualy gives them better clamping power than oiled steel bolts.

Spec sheet on the ARP S/S bolts.

ARP Moly Lube is THE ONLY WAY TO FLY when assembling fasteners that require specific torque. i have a study somewhere that more than proves this fact... see if i can dig it up...

Phil,

i hope you used a sealer on your head bolt threads...

I have a sheet supplied with the ARP bolts saying with their lube torque to 57lbs this will give the same torque as oiled steel bolts at 80lbs I will follow this to a T. The are very specific about the torques for each and every bolt.
