Is this a Originall big block boat?

I purchased a Donzi 18 2+3 for my wife yesterday and I am trying to figure out if it is a originall big block boat. It is a 1981 boat

Hull Numbers are: DMR 187200681

Engine Serial Number was (prior to replacement of motor) 5686722

Any help would be great. Thanks

according to the merc serial # breakdown it should be a 260 Merc originally installed...


1978 - 1982 260 GM 350 V-8 S/N 4908850 thru 6218461

the 330 (454) didn't get introduced until 1982 and ran serial numbers 6083145 thru OB816540

or maybe you started with a 1978-1982 370 TRS 454...No's 4179554-6721527 and over the years things were changed????

Is the drive decalled 330???

My Merc computer shows that as a 330,registered on 7-2-81 by Donzi Marine to an owner in Ft Laud,I have the name if you need it,clear warranty history,no claims filed.

Shows to be a 1981 Mercruiser 330.
Original owner was Gene/Scott Whiddon
In Ft.Lauderdale FL
Purchased 07/02/1981
boat was an 18 ft Donzi marine
Warrenty expired 07/02/1982

HP600 THANK YOU SO MUCH. All that info matches up EXACTLY to what I have found to date. The drive DOES say 330 on it and I have been high and low looking for ANY mods. According to all the paperwork that I have the drive serial numbers match as well as the transom.

Now for question number 2

How many were made?
