1965 28 Sportman

Does anybody know where to look to see if a boat is a 1965 28 Sportman? It didn't have anything on the outside hull.

Any other info about the boat, how many, specs, etc?

do you have any pictures of the boat? i think all original boats had v-drives with no reduction----3 square portholes on side--port side steering which was pretty unique to donzi---fuel tanks with direct sight gauges on the floor----rudders mounted on transom like certain blackfins....

That would be the boat.

From my understanding they made them 2-3 yrs and I'm trying to verify this one's year and production number.

Any other thoughts?

I'd follow where we've found numbers on other models

behind dash
bow eye reinforment pad
front side of forward bulkhead

from my experience, builders ussually put these numbers someplace where they could easily be seen during the build
process.

You might also look at engine serial numbers.
