Trim tab wiring question

I recently purchased a '99 18 Classic. The previous owner mentioned that he had the trim tabs wired different from factory standard but in accordance with the norm for performance boats. I don't recall exactly what he meant, but I'm thinking it had to do with cross wiring the left switch to the right tab or not.
I've owned several boats previous but none were performance boats. I'm used to the cross wiring convention and am inclined to stay with that. Is there a different convention typically used by performance boaters? How are Donzi's wired from the factory?

Trim Tabs should be wired

Port rocker switch up/ starbord tab down
Port rocker switch down/starboard tab up
Starboard rocker switch up/ port tab down
Starboard rocker switch down/ port tab up

That's what I'm familar with.

I guess its preferance,

its easier for my mind to wire it so that port rocker down.....port tab down ETC. Thats the way we wired them at Spectre and Donzi.
