Merc Trim Pump Brackets

To make trim pump brackets I used a 9.5 x 16.5 piece of .063 aluminum tread plate. Available @ Lowes or your local sheet metal supplier.

Made template out of cardboard then marked and cut (jig saw) :smash:

Made angles with a vise and reassembled :biggrin:

Rick...nice work :yes: Merc sure doesn't prep the original very well. I had my new pump/bracket one season and had to remove sandblast, prime, paint(RED) of course :D Merc just paints over the steel, no primer and it rusts quickly. We'll see how long my project lasts...if not long enough...you have a great idea... :biggrin.: . thanks for sharing... :wink:

Nice looking bracket.
Also Brian @ Martini Boat makes some nice brackets in SST. Also available powder coated.

Nice looking Bracket. The stock Steel ones rust out in a couple of years.
