View Full Version : Exide Orbital Marine Battery?

Has anyone used this product?This battery is $139.99 at BoatersWorld.Model134m-48 bci type 34m...MCA890...CCA700 ...Reserve Capacity95.Need to buy two new batterys next week.Would like to get good ones.Was told they last twice as long as normal batterys.

I put on similar to this in my boat last year. No complaints.
Also, no gassing, no acid, no spilling.
The nly thing I can think to say is to make sure your alternator is not charging more than 14.2 volts. This will shorten their lives dramatically. Make sure your connections at the batteries and at the alternator are good and clean.

If it says Exide it should be a real good battery, we were dealers for them years back and had -0- problems.

NAPA sell Exide under their own name. Same battery, possibly less money, especially if you know someone who can get a discount.

I met the Optima guys at a marine trade show a couple of years ago. You can mount the oribital in any position, yes even upside down, I asked.

for some good info on gas mat, spiral core and gel type batteries, read bruces musings on sonneschein (http://www.sonnenschein.org)

it will give you specific maximum voltages for different types of batteries, ect
