Turns out the new motor I purchased is a Gen VI. My intake manifold off my Mark IV will fit on the new motor, but I had to remove the splash plate off the bottom of the intake and remove the snap in splash plate. This leaves almost nothing to stop the oil splashing.

I've been searching with out getting any definitive answers on what intake manifold I can use. I don't want to buy something that later needs to be returned.

Any of you guys have a Chevrolet part# for your intake on a Gen VI 454? And or a picture of the bottom? I kind of want to stick to cast iron to keep the expansion from heat even, but will use an aluminum one if need be.

What type of water are you typically boating in..?
Not sure it's a Gen VI, they come with rectangle ports and you have large oval ports.

If fresh water, take a look at an edelbrock performer rpm part no. 7161

If you want cast iron..the merc intake part no. 811575

Good luck.

I'll be in both types of water, but more often in the salt. The ocean is so close for me.
