there should be a tag on top of the drive with a serial number with like
ZN- xxxxxxx-xxxxx or something like that it will have the drive type as one of the xxx like 250xxxxx or 270xxxxx and the drive ratio a,b,c,d, is in the string has well
a 69 will most likely be a 250 if it has not been replaced, H/M put a 250 on my boat in aug of 69 , but if it was replaced it could be a 270 280 maybe a 290
judging by mine a re power in 69 was 250
Scott Pearson all original 71 is a 250
Kenny's all original 72 cig is a 270 so there's some kinda time line .

mine has play in it something you just get used to

so how many donzi are there in lk geneva now????

My 1969 16 Holman Moody has a 250. It is the original drive.

My 1969 H/M 18' Classic had the 302 Ford, 250 Volvo combo. Still miss that Classic. Something about the letters H/M in the middle of the tach that just speaks volumes.

yes you're going to meet a dark stranger!! wait the tea leafs are fading???

What do I speak French???? it must be the nu york accent???
that would be a 250 with a B drive ratio which is 1.6 something to 1
and I might be out on a limb here but I bet it is raw water cooled :) and an 8 cyl. Thanks Craig! ;)

Matty

Sorry it wasn't Craig to thank it was V-drive who posted up the h/m decipher code.

ENGINE # A8HM3144-1 R/W

is a 1968 holman moody
302 ci standard rotation 144 made
raw water cooled
should have an I/O at the end for volvo

c16-533 sounds right mine is 410 and is a 67

the best prop would be a volvo ultra 22-24 pitch short hub if you can find them or do a search on long hub short hub for the retro fit

DAULEY I am up for adoption. I could be the greatest grandson you ever had. I could afford to keep up the maintenance 100%. I would never ask for anything more ( no birthday, christmas, graduation presents). Think of the compliments you would receive on your looks, when you tell people you have an 59 yr. old grandson.. Keeping my fingers crossed. Your devoted future grandson Ed (Teddy)
