I appologize in advance if this isn't the right forumn... It seemed to be the best place but feel free to move it if it should be elsewhere.

With one week left before turning 40 its time for me to get in one last mid-life crisis toy. The Doral, GT, and X18 were keeping me in check but when my significant other found out about the triple hatch in Florida the sh@! hit the fan.

As I only promised to get rid of one boat, I thought this would be the perfect time to see if anyone has a Harley that they'd be interested in trading for one of my Donzis. I'd be happy to kick in or receive a $$$ to even out a fair transaction.

THE SAME OFFER GOES TO THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO SWAP A FORD 150 OR 250 TOWARDS A dONZI AN WE COLD SETTLE UP WICH CASH TO MAKE IT A FAIR TRAINSACTION.

Anyone Hog heavy?

Turning 40 is WAY over rated! At 40, it's still easy to blow out ALL the candles!
Fifty was much more daunting for me, but it turned out to be still kinda HO-HUM.
Now the next one has got me kind of worried..... :eek!:

Can't help you with a trade, but my dad would sell you a Harley.

1) 2003 Heritage 100th edition
2) 2003 DynaGlide 100th editon
3) 2001 Roadking

If you are or anyone interested you can call me 800.245.0617

the two 2003 are a maching set and he does have a two bike trailer for them that he would sell also.

Post some pics of the ones you are offering and what you feel they are worth.. Have a few friends pushing 60 (like me) that are interested. What Harleys are you interested in cruiser, chopper, custom, or inbetween(soft tail)...Ed

PS Toronto isn't that far away. Just hop on the Spirit of Ontario in Rodchester and you are it T.O. in 1 1/2 hrs

I turn fifty-five this year, or forty-five if you start your countdown to one hundred, and learned a few things along the way:

1) Never make promises to a partner, significant other, wife, or kid that you really do not want to keep (or rather have no intention of keeping or else why were you hiding the triple hatch in Florida);

2) Never lie to a partner, significant other, wife, or kid as it’s better to tell the truth and bare the burden than to lie and bare the consequences (okay, “Does this make me look fat” doesn’t fall into this as there is no right answer so there is no lie. My S/O and I use “Thursday” as an answer to a question we do not want to answer based on the joke “…as the prosecutor asks, “so when did you stop beating your wife?” and anything you say can be turned against you as in “I didn’t” and they say back “Oh,… so you never stopped beating her then…”“);

3) If you don’t leave your first childhood behind you don’t have the trauma of going into a second one; and

4) If your partner, significant other, or wife doesn’t understand this it’s time to move on as eventually you are going to have a problem, kids are another story.

I still have bikes in California that my Significant Other doesn’t know about. But I had them there long before I met her and she just never found out about them. (... and I'm not telling as that's a can of worms I do not want to open... plus, that's really not lieing... I guess...) She does know about all the toys I have on the right coast though. Unfortunately none are Harley’s, as I would love to have a triple hatch for my collection.

You could always tell her it's an investment, like the rock on her left hand (lol)! We'll all back you up on that one, won't we gang... :toiletpap

Good luck, now that you started this. Hope you can live without whatever boat you decide to give up. Sure you don’t own a rowboat somewhere that could count?

The boat I'd like to trade was attached to Jamie's Alpha SS- Gene Drago's boat. The boat now comes with Scott's Alpha SS that Forrest rebuilt.

Ed- My first choice would probably be a fatboy but I'm open to other models

Below is Gene's original ad:
007 FOR SALE:
1966 Donzi 18 2+3 Classic
*Triple Hatch*

This is the same boat that Mike Aronow proclaimed as a 1966 Prototype and has been shown in three magazines and has been featured as a Donzi Registry T-shirt.

24 degree deadrise hull that goes all the way to the transom, excellent rough water boat.
Upholstery by Bilt Rite, in good condition
The brightwork has been re-chromed
The gimbal assy has been re-built has the world’s most expensive paint job (Imron by Offshore Solutions)
New trailer tires and rims, New trailer lights
Bilge re-done in white gel-coat and red splatter coat and white fiberglass diamond plate
New power steering unit
Rebuilt trim assy
Grey touneau cover with red strip down middle
4" Stainless steel thru hull exhaust

Mercruiser engine:
1973 400 block
1969-70 491 1.98 heads, gasket matched and ported, bathtub chambers and large diameter exhaust valve stems (sodium filled)
Mercruiser 270 camshaft
Clevite 77 cam bearings
TRW lifters
TRW hardened steel pushrods
Summit Racing 1.6 rockers w/slotted rocker balls and new nuts
Hardened steel screw-in rocker studs
TRW hi-volume oil pump
Aluminum 8 qt. oil pan
Exhaust manifolds practically new, take-offs from a Sea Ray test motor with less than 8 hours
SST risers
Keith Black hypereutectic pistons (.030) single valve relief groove
Stock 400 rods, re-sized/reconditioned
New ARP rod bolts
Crankshaft cut .010 mains, .010 rods w/Clevite 77 bearings
Double roller timing chain (I forget manufacturer) & upper and lower timing gears
Stock Q-jet with flame arrestor
Thunderbolt IV electronic ignition with new wires and plugs.
New belts
The engine was boiled and bored out .030 over and decked for .038 deck height with the Fel-Pro stainless steel gaskets ($35 ea.).
Crank was checked for balance.
Special 400 flywheel
Marine stainless steel and bronze water pump
High-torque starter
New fuel pump and lines.
The cam has been retarded 4 degrees, the motor has a nice lope to it.
The heads have all been re-done...spring height set, valve job, boiled, clean-up mill, valves sealed up tight with umbrellas, hardened steel inserts on the exhaust valves, new cast iron valve guides.
Most of the engine hardware has been replaced with stainless steel.
**There is not one single water jacket on this engine that has ever seen salt water, with the exception of the stainless steel risers.**
It's awesome and it's got a lot of torque. I asked the machinist if I would get 300 HP out of it and he laughed. He said I would get minimum of 350 HP and probably more.
It's been painted with Merc Phantom Black.
It has only been run on the shop floor, it's filled with 9 quarts of Valvoline 30HP.

Boat needs completion and some fiberglass work on port side deck and port side transom deck. Have all parts, assemble and go. With Alpha SS should be up around 80 MPH. This boat can be seen in the Registry, it doesn't look much different now then it did then, except now it has lifting rings.
