View Full Version : Cover for an 18 with no windshield...

I'm looking for an "off the shelf" cover for an older 18 that doesn't have a windsheild. I've done searches and followed a lot of the links, but most of the "off the shelf" custom covers seem to be for 18's from the windshield era.

Has anyone bought one for an older boat and gotten a decent fit? Or a really bad fit?

I won't be using it to trailer...just for storage, so that's not too much of a concern.

Any advice would be appreciated...

Thanks,
EG

Just picked up an 18' cover from Overton. It fits the Four Winns Donzi nock off. About $150.00. Fits real nice.

I am looking for a very lightweight cover (Tyvek?) for my 1997 18' Calssic with windshield, any suggestions?

Thanks,

I bought one for my 16 from Coversearch, it was ok as a basic rain and dust cover but I upgraded to a custom cover after two years.

I have been using the Tyvek covers that you can get from Walmart. $49. Last about a year outside, and forever, inside. I have an 18 with no windshield. They make a selection for 17-19' sportboats. Fits nice and although there is a wee bit of slack forward of the grab rail, it was designed for chubbier hulls. However, it completely covers the top deck, sides, and transom. Goes on light and easy, have plenty of tie-down loops, comes with tie down line (although I use bungee hooks to the trailer). Strong enough to outlast 4 hurricanes last summer.
Same one as sold in BoatUS stores. Half the price.

It's funny when one of your old threads resurfaces after awhile :)

I ended up buying an 18' I/O ski boat Poly/cotton cover from Overtons (Item #29748). It's very well made and fits the boat perfectly. I paid $160 for it.
