We went on a poker run put on by Thunder Marine here in St Pete. We only heard about it a couple days before. I thought we were going to have to miss it because of work. We adjusted our schedule. :)

It was a great time, six stops, $500 best hand, and best of all....................it was free!

The people at Thunder had this 40 Outlaw for the pace boat.

Our first stop was at the Pub on Indian Rocks Beach, we didn't take any pics there.

Our second stop was here at world famous Gator's on the Pass. :)

The only Donzi I saw all day. :( He wasn't in the run, but he was tied up at Gators. I think it was a 33 Crossbow. :)

The third stop was at a sportfisher two miles out in the gulf. The pic didn't come out. :(

This is the local gathering spot, Shell Island.

This was a fellow from up north that's on another forum. He was down to do some prop testing at Throttle Up. My buddy Johno told him about the run, so they came too. :)

Our fourth stop was at Billy's Moorings.

It was a very laid back poker run, there was no pressure to get from stop to stop, so several of us ate lunch at Billy's since we had a couple hours to burn before the last stop.

View from Billy's.

A couple from our boat club heard about the run this morning from my Yahoo Group for performance boaters. They called us just after we launched the boat and we told them to meet us at the start and come on!

The last stop was at Treasure Island Yacht Club. It was great coming to a stop where the dockmaster already had a plan on where to dock! :)

We started with two aces as our first two cards, but didn't get anything after that. :(

My buddy Johno did worse, or better depending how you look at it. He won a prize for worst hand. It included 3 days at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, and $25 gift certificates from all our other stops today. Not a bad return on the investment of a few gallons of gas.

The winning hand was from a guy that just got his Baja openfish yesterday. He may need it, he and the dock at the first stop became WELL acquainted! :eek!:

Here's Johno and Tawana proudly displaying the worst hand trophy! :)

Johno sent me some pictures of us blasting across the bay! It was a great day.

We'd like to thank Thunder for putting on such a well planned run.

There was a prize for the most spirited crew. This boat skipped the first stop, but made the other five, including the sportfisher in the gulf, and they were the first boat at all the stops! They had a blast! Just goes to show, you don't need a 40 footer to have fun. Heck, if the Minx had been ready, I'd have run it instead! :)

It was a classic case of the hare and the tortoise.

Looks like a fantastic time. Thanks for taking time to post all the pics. I was hoping I'd see some of the Formula...love that boat!

Was that the drawbridge at Johns Pass I saw in one of the pics by Gator's? We stayed down there in Treasure Island back in 1993, Gator's was one of my favorite parts about that trip.
