For the past eight years I have had the pleasure of working with Nick and Mike M. (my company provides staging, lighting and sound for AMH corporate events) and this year I had the opportunity to take advantage of a couple of first's. Got a 100 mph thrill ride in the new ZR, and got to be one of the first to plug in and play the new Donzi siganature Gibson Les Paul. The ultimate in at least two of my favorite things. http://www.donzi.net/photos/RLavoir002.jpg

Thanks to the Donzi / Proline family, as always, it's been a pleasure. Rich

Now - Donzi Signature LP - Is it a real model, or did someone have it made custom? That needs to be added to my collection!!

Back in early April I replaced the white leather steering wheel on my 2001 Classic 18 with a red metal and black trim wheel from Momo inorder to personalize and match the custom red metal bezels I installed around my gauges.
I have seen many pictures of the 38ZR interior, and even saw the real McCoys at the dealer show this past weekend.
It wasn't until I saw these pictures, though, that I realized that I have exactly the same steering wheel in my 18 as is pictured above in the ZR. Wow! What a coincedence!!!! eek!
So does that mean I have the first Classic 18 R?

By the way, the guitar is the real deal. It is a brand new Donzi limited edition. The one you see here is the prototype (in train talk - that means the first one of the series). Those planning on adding this little item to your Donzi memorabilia showcase be prepared for some sticker shock - Retail price is way over $4000 each. The announcement was made by Nick Miller at the SEADOGs party on the Saturday night before the dealer show. They did auction off a Fender that was Donzi cutomized - on off - and it went for a paltry $325. Watch these pages for the owner to offer it up to a higher bidder. The winner doesn't even play the guitar.

I never thought I would find something that would take my attention away from the ZR....but that LP is just soooooo cool.

Hmmmm...4,000 + Retail huh? In musical instrument terms, that means $2500ish - maybe? Of course, it is a signature model, so they probably won't mark it down...

I can sell the Les Paul Special, the tele thinline, the Tex-Mex Tele, and maybe the Blackface head, and then I might be able to grab a Donzi LP.....can I get one in Yellow? wink

Now...what can I sell to get the ZR eek!

Mark,
Sorry to dissappoint you, but the guitar will not be up for sale. Have some faith in the human spirit. We are not all in this for the profit. I am sure that every person on this board has purchased something in their life that they have never used. I plan to hang it on my wall as I would and have done with many other pieces of memorabilia. This one just represents a good time in Sarasota in 2002 that I spent with some great people and great boaters.

Ok Ok, I needed something unique for my Donzi Girl to pose with. Photos will follow, in the next few weeks. The one catch is that you will have to obtain access to the Donzi Girls section to see them. Something that is currently becoming harder to get. (See other post) LOL

Bob

PS I did pay a rather hefty premium for the guitar, it was no bargain. It is no Les Paul, if you know what I mean. On the bright side, all the Seadogs should get a T shirt, now.

Mike M. just told us yesterday at the Winni Poker Run that they will be making 100 of the LP's and a few more promo's from other companies in the near feature.

Stay tuned.... :D

Guy's, I met the VP of sales for Gibson at the meeting, he flew it down personally for Nick. It's definetly real, the price's quoted are accurate. This year is the fifty year anniversary of the Les Paul, and that makes it extra special, from what I understand, the serial number of the guitar you order can be your hull ID #. How cool is that!

For those following the thread above, in today's mail I did in fact receive Bob's (Tidbit) check for the guitar on which he bid successfully. I want to make certain that nobody thinks he didn't pay. It appears that either he or someone else has deleted a second response he made to me. I hope he understands that we are thrilled with his support of the SEADOGs and hope he enjoys many events with us in the future.
