See the prop in the attached photos. The only markings on this prop are in the rear of the hub - 14 1/4 X 25 II. My prop guy said this is a Turbo. Can anyone verify? Is a Turbo I the same thing as a Turbo or is there a design diference? Seems several folks have recommended the use of the Turbo I on 22 Classics.

Based on the 14 1/4 dia it sounds like a Turbo. Most of the other 3 blade performance props use a larger dia. The blade profile looks just like mine, hell just try.

Turbo Props is the name of the company. They have different types of 3 blade props. The turbo 1 and turbo vector are for bravo 1 drives. I am not sure if the the name turbo 1 is being used generically or not. I only see posts regarding turbo 1 and nothing for the vector model.

I think you probally have a Turbo 1 because of the diameter 14.25" diameter. The vector is a 14.50" diameter. Here is the links to Turbo Props Web page.

It kinda looks like a stilletto... I have one as a spare . It is also 14.25 in diameter. For about every 1/4 inch in diameter you will gain about 100-200 rpm . I think that is why you see the turbo running a little faster on the top end over the mirage plus. I am sure that some where in the hull weight/horsepower/resistance #@%&# there is a line to where the larger diameter is more efficient than a smaller diameter. For my 16 I run a laser2,which is smaller in diameter than a mirage plus, but get better all around performance and a couple of mph more on the top end. I quit chasing the prop rainbow and am just now enjoying the ride :)
