UG,are you having fun yet  That has to be one of the best looking SB that I have seen,As far as a prop goes I would use a 4 blade cleaver at about 5600 rpm,It would pin ya to the seat and sound bad ass!So Im going to ask ya again....when do we see the boat that this master pc fits into

Bill, the drive is a Bravo with a Polished 2" Imco Shorty.

Smoothie, Here is a progression of photos of where I am at today.
The boat is back at the fiberglass shop having the splatter paint removed from the engine compartment. They thought I would like it. (It's a West Coast thing. )
They are also fabricating the hatch that I designed, because unfortunately this engine won't fit under the standard 1970 hatch. The hatch is going to be lifted by Dana's power hatch mechanism.
The hatch and extra glass work for the hinges should be finished by the end of next week.
Then it comes back to the shop for the engine, plumbing, power steering, tabs, and gauges to be rigged.
After that, it all gets de-rigged and then goes to the paint shop for the deck, hatch and interior to be painted.
Hopefully all this will be done in the next six weeks.
Finally it will be fitted to a trailer that is being made.

I'm confused. Was the boat originally red? Then painted blue/white? Then stripped and repainted or regelcoated red?
You're right, the speckles don't add a thing to the engine compartment.
Engine looks great! What is the finish on the carbs and the intake manifold?

When I bought the boat it was painted red and white with Awlgrip.
When we stripped the boat it was originally a blue an white gel.
I had the boat re-gelled in red.

The intake manifold was brought to a company that specializes in chrome powdercoating. It is done in there black chrome finish. I first learned of this company at this years SEMA show. They are doing this finish on all of Edelbrocks custom work and many car and motorcycle rims.
The web site is:

I am also going to have the valve covers done the same way.

The carbs are powdercoated in candy apple red.

Smoothie,
You think I like red?
My baby is going to have a little brother to play with this summer.

I was at the Goodguys Hot Rod Show in Pleasanton this past weekend, and met with the PPG guys. We picked out the colors for the racing stripe.
PPG's Hot Hues. Volcanic Blast (Red) and Silva (Silver) for the pin stripe.
I can't wait until this job is done.
