I have a 1972 16 ft classic that was repowered in 1983 with a chevy 327. The owner at that time used Nicson Engineering exhaust headers which seem
to still look good but this year I'm getting one that's very hot to the touch, good amount of water and equal amount coming out of each exhaust tip. The headers are made of aluminum but never run in salt water and always flushed.
but I can't find any info. on the net about Nicson. Can anyone help!!!!

Open up the joint between the manifold and the riser and check for a buildup of corrosion/lime/scale/impeller bits n pieces. I dont think gaskests ar available anymore, but you can make some when you reassemble it.

Tell us a bit more about the boat/engine combo. Drive type? 327's are not real common in boats, I'd be interested in knowing how she runs with it.
The boat is a 1972 that can with a 4 cylinder volvo engine and a 270 volvo
outdrive. In 83 the owner repowered it with the 327, 300 hp chevy. goes 58
mph on a gps with one person and half tank of gas. great ride. lots of fun
