Would anyone be able to assist with the interpretation of a identification tag found on the bell housing of my 1966 triple hatch 18' ? The engine was changed to a 1975 351 windsor a while back prior to my acquiring the boat, but they kept what apperas to be the original aluminum bell housing that includes the following data:
S/N D9HM-3637-1-RW-I/O
CPM-235-4V 66HM MB1
CR 9.3:1 T1M12
It also reads olman Moody (these letters appers to be black ink/dye/paimt and are missing the H for Holman however, the base of the tag includes Holman & Moody, Charlotte, NC.
I figure that the Serial Number (S/N) uses the D for Donzi and the I/O stands for the type of drive unit. The drive on the boat is a 250 series Volvo Penta.
The 235-4V may mean the engine was a 235 HP with a 4 barrel carb. The 66 probably means the year. The CR may be the compression ratio of 9.3:1.
I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.
Thank You
