Can anyone give me a estimate on replacing a 350. Whats the most cost effective way to go? High performance is not a consideration, high cost is. I have a new quadrajet / Merc fule pump, another words all the outters. After this weekend I also have a bilge full of oil, I think its time.

Hello,
I just purchased a 350 Vortec from Doug Russel Marine. It should be on the way today or tommorow. I spoke with Tom Lee...very helpful and patient. Check the site out and also look under the specials section. The setup was cheaper than purchasing it locally. That's pretty bad.
Oh, they also have motors other than the vortec engines on the site.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Do you have all the accesories already? That cuts down a bunch of the cost.

I've replaced everything you can bolt on, all I need is the thing in the middle.
Does the engine sound bad? Or is your problem a bad leak? I have seen guys get cranked up on a new motor only to find out they had a bad oil leak, pan rusted through, fitting or remote filter hose cracked. May be worth checking out.

You should be able to get a good marine long block for around $2500.
350 longblocks here for $1625.
