I was looking over the BH drive today with my buddy, he said blast it with nut shells and leave it natural! I kind of like the idea, what are the pros and cons? I am in salt but a flushaholic, my 16 looks as good as some FW boats.

Salt water use, or are your just going to stand there and look at it sitting on the trailer? That drive will look like hell in no time, and the lack of a protective coating will drastically speed up and galvanic corrosion - even during the short time that she's in the water.

You can beat the factory applied finish. Keep it.

Point well taken, I do see Hustler testing with the big merc drives that are burnished. It does look super, but I will touch mine up stock.

Thanks Forrest!

I've seen powdercoated drives, and there is clear powdercoating. You could polish up the raw drive, then have it powdercoated clear. A lot of work and probably some good money, but it would look cool as hell......

My pockets are a little shallow right now, have a few deals closing next month then I will have to think about it.

Thanks for the input and ideas!
