Does anybody know the standard stereo cut out dimentions for a receiver in the dash board.

Buy the stereo, make a "dummy" mock up of it out of scrap, (eg: the cut-out dimensions) then clamp it to the underside of the dash (lower portion) take a router with a flush trimming bit (1/2" dia) and VOILA!!! Use 3/8 MDF if you can, about 15$ US a sheet most likely. The bit is about $25.00. This will give you raidiused corners to boot.

I was told the standard DIN for a head unit cutout is 2 x 7 "

i am a firm believer in measure twice and cut once... the radio head should come with a templet for cutting the dash or what not to mount it... at least radios i have installed in years past have...

better safe than sorry
