Just finished the carburetors for the engine in my 18 classic restoration.
I had them powdercoated in candy apple red.
They will be mounted on a polished chrome dual intake Offenhauser manifold.
Engine should be complete next week.

That boat is going to look sick!! :) I had to look back up to see what boat it was again. Two carbs on an 18!! Gotta love it!

Cuda,
In the beginning of the restoration I was thinking .. great finally a boat that I don't have to deal with two of everything.I might actually have some money in the bank when this thing is complete. Wrong...My engine builder showed me a dual plane Offenhauser intake manifold that he said would really make the engine sing. That was the first of many costly suggestions!

those are freaking pretty :)

dual carbs when ya pop the hatch eh... such a lovely visual statement for sure... tunnel ram? low rise 2 4V intake? orrr orrr the grand daddy nostalgia setup which i have been in love with for so long (granted for hi rpm applications)...

the cross ram...

i ran one on the 289 in my 64 cyclone for a few years... i've only ever seen 3 for a sbf including the one i have.. an edelbrock X-F8...

Rootsy,
It's your first photo the cross ram.
I had this company www.goodrichtechnology.com use their Permaplating process to finish it in black chrome.
I will post pictures soon.

Very slick looking. I love that translucent powdercoating on the carbs. I just bought a couple of billet battery hold downs for my boat, and opted for the exact same finish. If your Magnum is a typical or your projects, this will turn out to be an extremely special 18. Can't wait for more pics.

That one for the Ford would be just what I need. Would like to see what that does on my flow bench.

Damn Eugene, that is about the purtiest thing I have ever seen. I'm with cuda, I thought I remebered you saying it was for an 18, and wondered what the other carb was for. If the rest of the motor looks 1/10 as good as the carbs, you will have the sweetest sounding work of art on the water.

continually blown away by "the next level" you guys are taking your boats to
