I ran my Ez trust antivirus and it detected a virus and it could not delete it. I also have the Mcafee personal firewall. I have been looking thru the FAQ's trying to find out how I can get rid of the infected file. This is what I received after I ran the scan:

Number of files that could not be scanned: 71
Number of archives containing infected files: 1
Number of infections: 4
Number of infected files not cleaned/deleted/renamed: 4
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.jpi_cache\jar\1.0\counter.jar-22500802-4265f23c.zip>counter.class (Java.ByteVerify.exploit trojan)
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.jpi_cache\jar\1.0\counter.jar-22500802-4265f23c.zip>Dummy.class (Java.ByteVerify.exploit trojan)
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.jpi_cache\jar\1.0\counter.jar-22500802-4265f23c.zip>VerifierBug.class (Java.ByteVerify.exploit trojan)
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.jpi_cache\jar\1.0\counter.jar-22500802-4265f23c.zip>Beyond.class (Java.Shinwow.C trojan)

Thanks for looking
Mike

Mike,
none of us are discovering new viruses. go to google.com and type or paste into the search, Java.ByteVerify.exploit trojan and you will find all you need to know about it and what to do about it.
It appears to be malware and not a virus and there are ways to make it go away listed.
There was so much to read that I didn't read it all and feel it would be best if you read it first hand and go through the steps to get ride of it.
hope this helps
David

I guess it was stored in the Cache under Java Controls. It has worked so far.

Thank you for the quick reply.
