Would like to get a new thread going (or revive the old one) on 1k islands for this year. Last I recall dates were being reviewed/adjusted. What's the latest scoop? Time to fill out the summer calendar!
:D

Digger, the dates are August 26 to August 29....(thursday to sunday).
There is enough to see and do that you could easily arrive a few days early, or stay a few days after if your schedule permitted.

The hotel is not confirmed, the Bonnie Castle Resort was more than happy to block us 30+ rooms, but they could only offer us 4 slips  , I 've got a couple other things cooking, I'll post it as soon as I get confirmation.

The town/area website is www.alexbay.org
The poker run that will be taking place while we're there can be seen at www.gananoquepokerrun.com

The Bonnie Castle will not be the hotel we will be staying at, (see above edited post).

Stay tuned, I'll sort this out ASAP.

We spoke to the hotel today, you can check out their website at www.theedgewoodresort.com .
Janine faxed me a site plan today, I'll try to scan it and get it posted to help you figure out which building you want to stay in, because we are going to the Islands in high season this year, the only break they will give us so far is a reduced docking rate. I'm still working on some sort of a reduction, and I'll keep you posted.
Here are the rates, there is a 2 night minimum, the first rate is the price sun to thurs, the second rate is the price fri and sat.
July/August 2004

Curtis Cottage (900s) $129.00 $149.00
Harborview (500's & 600's) $159.00 $179.00
Waterview (300's) $159.00 $179.00
Waterfront (100's & 200's) $179.00 $199.00
King Jacuzzi Room (211, 501, 507, 601, 606) $229.00 $249.00
King Jacuzzi Suite (201, 212) $259.00 $299.00

Janine said that most boaters stay in the Harborview rooms, which are the closest to the docks. The Curtis cottage is a seperate 7 room building, but currently a wedding has blocked off 4 of those rooms, if no one books them by June they will become available.
Their property is 40 acres, so there is lots of onsite storage for trucks/trailers, and there is probably enough room for a North/South Bocci game.
There should be more than enough dockage, but Janine will discuss that with you on an as needed basis because some of the slips are more suited for larger boats than others. There is an open in-ground outdoor pool with an onsite bar, and a couple of basketball hoops.
It is a 6-8 minute walk into town, and there is gas directly across the bay from the hotel. This hotel is situated directly across the bay from the large town docks, at the opposite end of town from where we were last summer, or for those of you who weren't there last year, a solid 5 iron from where we were.
As soon as Frank and I confrim everything we'll post the contact information, there is no immediate concern to phone the hotel, they are currently closed, the owner is working from her home, and they have 110 available rooms.
Oh yeah one more thing, not that most of you will be interested, but there is a waterfront bar, right next to the docks.

I spoke to the owners, told them who you were, and they assured me that they will book you into a room no further than 15 feet from their new fridge.....
