I started lifting weights again. Six weeks into my workout and I nailed 300 pounds in bench press. Donzi Kathleen is my lifting partner and for some reason she keeps yelling "Is that all you've got, wimp?!" Damn, I think it may be working.

When the invitations to deck lifting parties begin to arrive, please rest assured that they really want the company of your scintillating mind and masterful conversation... really.

That's great!!! You are well on your way to benching as much as Jim Martin (Donzi Manufacturing) when I was at Donzi I think he was still only lifting VW Bugs.
Congrats,

Donnie

Three big plates on each side looks a heck of a lot better than a half dozen smaller ones :D . Godd luck on the 315, I am sure you can do it.

Lets say Im moving up to 110 lb, is it better to do 3 reps of 110 or 10 reps of 100? Im sure both build muscle, what will help me get to a higher weight quicker?

Hyper,
I am not sure I understand the question entirely. If you can do 10 reps, with 100, you should be able to do more than 3 reps with 110 in your work out. Are you trying to get to a higher weight physically, or higher bench weight? If you would like, send me an email @ makulaf@mindspring.com

Hyper,

In working up to 315, my workouts are as follows:

Set 1 ten reps-185
Set 2 ten reps-205
Set 3 ten reps-225
Set 4 ten reps-245
Set 5 ten reps-265

Bonus set two or three reps-275

For you working up to 110, I would pay attention to building strength for the first couple of weeks. Try these sets and see how you do. If the weight seems to easy, bump it up a couple of pounds.

Set 1 ten reps-45
Set 2 ten reps-55
Set 3 ten reps-65
Set 4 ten reps-75
Set 5 ten reps-85

Bonus set two or three reps-95

If you complete the sets, bump the weight up by 5/10 pounds for the next week.

I work out Mon/Wed/Fri. Total workout time lasts one hour. No more, no less. This includes, biceps, triceps, shoulders, bench press, bent over rows and wrist curles. Have fun.

One more thing, to get the big weights up, having strong triceps is a must! Don't neglect working out your arms!
