I WILL financially help you, our resident "real" kid, get this thing if it is reasonable. Less than 8K$ US. ONE TIME DEAL ONLY. I have VERY little to spare, but I will throw in $100 (your dollars)to help you...( if you can bid and get it, WITHIN REASON!!!!) ...or in any way contribute to the transportation side but that is pointless where I am. Money always works. :D

Why don't WE see what we can do to help him. A late Christmas present. I have sweet *%&uck all $$$$ but that is not the point. This is a good cause, a good kid...

Hyper, sell the farm..this offer only applies if you get the boat... this boat...
Seriously, that is a real offer on my part if you can get your funds together.

Get it together and start rallying...you have 6 days!!!!
Be VERRRRRYYYY nice to people...

It, as pics have shown, might be a good 7-8K buy..You had better have access to about 6 or 7 of that. (go high on that #) :D . I trust the rest will show up here bro...

Don't buy $hit, it will cost you ten times that amount to fix. Find someone to help you, LISTEN TO THEM, they will know 100 times what you and I know together...

I'm with Lenny on this. A little strapped right now, but can come up with $100 also if you buy this boat.

Hopefully someone on the registry can swing by and check it out for you. Looks great from where I am sitting, but with all the expertise on this board and the vast geagraphical member base, it would be great to get a second opinion.

If you pull the trigger and buy, you got $100 from me.

Best of luck,
fish

i'll give you a hand in this quest if you so choose to attempt it... 100 bucks it is or assist in retrieval... your choice...

this is probably a good 5 - 7K boat if everyhing is in in working order... someone needs to check her out though... price is gonna diminish quickly if it needs motor or drive work... or coring, transom and stringer work... the rest is just small potatos...

wonder what the reserve is wink

Hmmmmmm! Wonder why Hyper has not chimed in? Could he be smashing Piggy Banks? Definetely better than the Homan Moody 16 for him. :)

Just wondering if any of our VA members might know the boat and owner, possibly a deal could be worked!

M.O.P.,

Why better than the Holman Moody 16? Just curious...

Throw another $100 in the pot. I'm in if he get's it.

That's $700 FREE dollars so far! I do think it's for a good cause. I've met Tommy in person at Alum Creek and he seems like a good kid. I'd be happy to help out. Now go print this thread and show mom and dad. Maybe they'll help you too.

...a lot of generous folks here.

More room for girls.. Come on Jim, remember when you were young?? Oh, if THAT's the reason then it's ok!

Wow, I think there are a few tears. I will wash and clean my truck tonight, asking the full blue book value, as a lot has been replaced and a lit of extras, so that is about 4500. Plus a few paychecks and some bank money, right now this does seem to maybe make sense....

Will see what happens in the next 5 days...

Anyone know what the reserve is?

Ok my reasoning on the 18 vs the 16HM is the HM is an original classic from what I can see, not to say Tommy would not take care of it but they in that form are getting rarer and should go to the guys that will cherish them for what they are!
Now dollar for dollar to me the step up to the 18 is a good move, not only does it afford a little more room but does things enough better than a 16 to be well appreciated. I love my 16 and have fair seat time in a buds 18, maybe only 2 feet longer planes off a tad quicker no porpoising and noticably better in bay chop.
And as usual MP is always Right! :D :D

Heres an idea... Thinking....Jim Besst has an old HM18, all rippes apart, cut up in parts and not really a HM anymore. With trailer and interior (needs recovered)for 2k, then I can put a B1 and a 350 mag mpi in for cheap (there are good things about getting a job in a boat shop).... Just thinking....

price is still pretty good on this boat, but there are 18 "private auction -- bidders' identities protected" bids. Hopefully some of those are Hyper's.

Unfortunately this auction has gotten a lot of attention here. The owner may have been seen this thread.

I don't know you Tommy, and I hope you get it. But, as with anything you have to be ready to walk away.

It's funny how it works, but if this one doesn't work out for some reason, when the time is right a better one will come along and the deal will fall into place. Hopely this is the one.

Your judged by the company you keep.

I hate these "hidden bidders".****ty way to run an "auction". I got a feeling all we are doing is playing with the owner here. He can pound sand, I am out. I was bidding for you Tommy...
Be patient, it will work out soon. The 16 OB is what looks to be a lovely boat.

Doesn't anyone have a donzi project they want to sell? We could all chip in and do this internally. I am in for 50.00.

I would love a project boat, Have a friends mom who does vnyl upholstry on the side, so the interior dosent need to be in good shape, and I can get very good deals on Bravos, and small blocks. :) Tommy

I have been bidding on this from 1500. For every $500 I go there is another $50 added a short time later, (or whatever the amount), but it takes me $500 to get past that and become the high bidder again. Once I get up another $500, there is another $50 added shortly thereafter. This sounds fishy to me. Seeing different bidders with different profiles would at least look more honest to me. If the reserve is so important than why didn't this person start with an opening bid , with no reserve, at the minimum he would take. It would save all the song and dance and if there were more than one party interested in it, it would then be a game between them and/or others and the seller could sit back knowing he has at least achieved his minimum and the rest is gravy. Hopefully whomever has it will be stuck with it this time around and next time it will be a little more even keeled from a bidding standpoint.

...by the way, I bailed out at $4500. 2 hours left...

HyperDonzi

Lenny, If you get an email from him after the auction if the "winning bidder happens to not be able to pay" if you want, make an offer, if not, tell him to get in touch with me.

oldLenny

Yes, I know, poodle, but after I get "bumped", I have to increase it by $500. to re-establish high-bid agiain. Then it is a very short period of time till I have to re-establish another $500. The magic number here is $500. I have done this 3-4 times now. Poodle, what I am saying is between me and "who knows" the number spead and short duration between me and "who knows" is $500. Not 50, 100, 150, 200,..it is 500 each time to get to the top of bidding and it is being watched closely. (timing, have a look at it) I am letting it go and we'll see who gets it :D
