Phil, Nice article. Unfortunately Wireless gets an underserved bad rap. If you turn on encryption on a wireless router then you have nothing to worry about. You should always us encryption no matter what you are using (especially with cable modems!).

I am not sure if all areas of the country have the same hacker activity as in the northeast. Most all of my buddies have had alot of trouble with Oponline cable. We have found the only way to try to stop the BS is to build a Dumb Box using BDS op system with the firewall and anti virus very little if any get by. Plus using the Dumb box as first inline fools cable provder into thinking only one computer is on line hence no extra charges. My closest bud's got six machines on all the time paying for one!
