Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a reproduction rear convertible deck for a 1955-1962 Vette like this in the picture?

Lenny,

-----Although some Vette repro house may make these lids I wouldnt get one if I were you.The mounting points for the latchs and the hinges would have to be very well done, and I havent seen any that pass muster. There are also plenty of original ones around . Enough that the price shouldnt be too bad. Im calling a buddy of mine as I type this and hes just told me $300+ shipping and handling. My friend isnt the cheapest out there either. I know several vendors in California and that would help on the shipping end as well. Get back to me and Ill put you in touch with some of them. One friend in particular out there(near Monterey)is the C1 guru of the west coast, but its a little too early to call him. If I think of it in an hour or so Ill call him and see what he has to say............Bill S

Red, me-thinks Lenny isn't looking to mount this on a Vette. Might there be a tonneau covered 16 2+3 in the future.... :D :D

Boxy, you're a mind reader. Red, he's right, only it is for the last 18 here. It is a 260US$ gamble from Ecklers and $50 worth of glasswork. I have measured them off of the local C-1's and it is close. Thanks for the Ecklers tip guys, they have it. Red, I will wait to see if you find out anything from South of here in Calif. No big hurry here. Thanx

----Wow,that sounds pretty cool. It never ocurred to me. I didnt have time today to call my pal,but when I do would you be able to just splash a quick mold off one? If so maybe he would lend you one for real short bucks. If you have to cut the donor up,of course, that wouldnt work! Just a thought........Bill S

Lenny how good shape does it need to be? My kid took me to a guys place here on LI that has a bunch of parts stashed. I can give him a call and have him contact the guy. I do remember most of the stuff was pretty bad off but being glass salvageable.

Buying new from Ecklers Phil. For $260 I can't go wrong and I would eat that up in labour in a heartbeat if I had to fix it. Thanx tho... :D

Are you going to make a rear seater out of it and use the filler up front? or a front seater with the filler to the rear? A rear seater would be awesome..
