I raced against a guy named Eric Hahn who had a $30,000 Lingenfelter engine in his boat and spare in the trailer. He completely dominated the class until he got bored with it and sold all his stuff. I tend to think his domination had more to do with the Lingenfelter engines than his driving skill, but that's a debate for another time.
I only recount this to illustrate what a force John Lingenfelter was in his field.

He will be missed.

-----As I knew John fairly well from my drag-racing days I have had a hard time putting anything down on the computer until now. He was a really nice person as well as a genius in my eyes and will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him........Bill S
